What You Looking At?

What bits of the site are you lot looking at!…

You may have noticed that there are more little counters around the site. Well I’m looking at you, looking at me… Or at least, which bits of the site you lot are looking at anyway! I’ll be doing a few daily averages to see whats popular and whats not, should help me decide which bits of the site to push forward and maybe re-arrange the menus a bit.

The figures look like a disaster! Hits to the site down by about 40%…

A bit odd though, even though I haven’t done one of these charts for over a year, I have slowly been watching the hit to the site fall and fall. However my Alexa.com and Ranking.com ranks have continued to rise.

A year ago the Ranking.com rank for the site was about 500,000 now it’s under 250,000 and similar figures on Alexa.com too with my ranking up 60,000 in the last months to about 215,000.

So how can I have less hits, but be better ranked?

There must be more competition out there, you guys must be spending your time surfing other sites, spreading the hits out more thinly.

So what does the future hold for SkinMarvin.com? Well I’ll have to come-up with some good idea’s to get you guys back to the site more often, again… [Thinking...]

1000 responses to this poll and even I’m a little surpirse 45% of visitors are here for the Galleries a little disapointing seeing all the work I put into the rest of the site, but then, there are a lot of gallery links! ;) 20% of people are here for the stories, didn’t expect that, will have to look into working that section up a bit more! Everthing else looks pretty poor in comparison!…

Well hits seem to be up, by about 10%, that’s good.

Looking at hits by section, it seems that the gallerys are still the most popular area of the site, the new Bears section in the gallerys has been an instant success.

Looks like I could do with adding a few more section to the galleries. Think I will alphabetise the galleries ready for that.

I don’t want the site just to become a ‘gallery’ site though.
