Pete’s Encounters by Pete
Pete’s Encounters by Pete.
It was in 1976 when I realised that the Skinhead scene did something for me, I was just 16 and the sight of guys with razor shaved or close cropped heads turned me on, in their doc’s, tight bleached jeans, Fred Perry’s or Ben Sherman shirts and braces. I just knew I had to be of them.
I started with a close haircut, not shaven but what is now known as a No2, I bought my first pair of 8 hole oxblood docs, wore my jeans turned up, and Ben Sherman shirts, I started looking the part and felt good about myself.
I was about 18 when I used to go into town (Liverpool) in those days and it wasn’t long before I made pals with a guy called Thomas. We used to go to the football matches together…
